The Watershed Fellowship takes its name from an illustration made by the late author and founder of L'Abri, Francis Schaeffer. In 1984, Schaeffer wrote about how seemingly small differences in the way we think and live can result in drastically different outcomes. He likened these differences to a watershed. Schaeffer noted that a small difference in the flowing of waters from a mountain near his home in Switzerland divided the waters to either the chilling North Sea or the warm waters of Lake Geneva.
We desire to be a community of small differences that have a lasting impact. Seeker, cynic and believer alike are welcome and encouraged to enter into the conversation - to join in the journey toward what matters most. Just as Jesus was and continues to be patient with those who earnestly seek after truth, we want to demonstrate the same love and attentiveness. God promises to bring to completion what he begins in us and to give us His joy along the way. With eager expectation, we look forward to the watershed moments God has in store for us.

Our Prayer
We want our conversations to be more than swapping ideas and good intentions. We realize we don't have all the answers, but we do believe there is one who does. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life." We hope that by gathering together, we will behold Jesus' glory, experience his love and catch a vision of his beauty. So we pray:
"Jesus by your grace turn our words into lives weighted with your Glory, compelled by your Love, and inspired by your Beauty."
Our Expectations
Our expectation is for Lexington and the surrounding area of Columbia to be more glorious, loving and beautiful because The Watershed Fellowship is here. May our community see Jesus by how we listen, how wildly we give of ourselves, how recklessly we serve, how humbly we live, and how dangerously we love. Let it be said that when you encounter one of us you never before felt so valued and cared for.
"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us."
- 1 Thessalonians 2:8
